POSITION SUMMARY

​

The Workshop Manager is responsible for maintenance, repair, and availability of all mining and haulage equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal fleet performance.

​

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs

• Ensure high availability of:

  • Excavators

  • Loaders

  • Trucks

• Support equipment

• Supervise mechanics and technicians

• Maintain spare parts inventory and procurement planning

• Control maintenance costs and budgets

• Implement maintenance tracking systems

• Coordinate with:

  • Mine Foreman (priority equipment)

  • Haulage Manager (fleet readiness)

• Ensure compliance with OEM standards

• Investigate major breakdowns and failures ​

• Equipment availability (%)

• Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)

• Maintenance cost per ton

• Breakdown frequency

• Spare parts efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

​

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

• 10+ years heavy equipment experience

• 5+ years in workshop leadership
