Winch Energy (SL) Services Ltd is a subsidiary of Winch Energy Ltd which is headquartered in the United Kingdom. Winch Energy Ltd aims to electrify communities and off-grid customers in the form of solar Mini-Grids through our proprietary technology, the Remote Power Unit (RPU).
Winch Energy (SL) Services Ltd is looking for an experienced technical operator to manage a large diesel power plant project in Southern Sierra Leone. The 1.2MW diesel plant will serve an agricultural business in the local area. The Technical Operator will manage the technical aspect of the operations and be the main person responsible for operations and maintenance of the plant. The Technical Operator will spend most of their time on site near Sumbuya in Southern Sierra Leone
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Handling the technical aspects of the operation of the 2x 650KVA diesel generators, ensuring reliable operations and up-time.

Main point of contact of the Winch Energy (SL) Services Ltd Country Manager who the technical operator will report to.

Communicate and report to Winch Energy Limited’s technical management team and CTO

Daily monitoring of the functionality of the power systems

Carry out maintenance and troubleshooting.

Reporting and feedback of operational matters.

Maintaining relationships with client
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Electrical/mechanical engineer or equivalent
-
Experience in operating and maintaining diesel generators essential. Preferably Caterpillar gensets.

Experience in solar PV systems advantageous

Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and direct varied programs and tasks involved within the operations and maintenance functions.

Must be able to read and understand control logistic diagrams and other technical material pertinent to power plant operation and maintenance.

English and Krio language
