KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Management: Track and manage the stock of materials, tools, and equipment on-site. Ensure all items are stored properly and that stock levels are regularly updated.

Receiving and Storing Supplies: Oversee the delivery and safe storage of construction materials, ensuring they are stored according to safety standards and organized for easy access.

Issuing Materials: Provide workers with the required materials and tools on request, ensuring they are available when needed. Keep records of all materials issued.

Stock Monitoring: Regularly check stock levels and notify supervisors of items that need to be reordered. Assist with ordering new supplies or materials when necessary.

Organizing Storage Areas: Maintain a clean and organized storage area, ensuring that all materials are safely stored and easily accessible. Ensure hazardous materials are stored in accordance with safety regulations.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all stock transactions, including incoming deliveries, outgoing materials, and inventory levels. Assist in conducting regular stocktakes.

Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Monitor the condition of tools and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained. Report any damaged or faulty items to the site supervisor for repair or replacement.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations related to handling and storing materials. Ensure that materials and tools do not pose a hazard to workers or the site environment.

Data Management: Proficiency in using Excel for data entry, analysis, and report generation, and Word for creating documents and correspondence.

Assisting with Site Setup: Assist with setting up materials and tools in preparation for construction activities, ensuring that all required items are readily available
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.

5–10 years’ experience.

Previous experience in a similar role, preferably on construction sites.

Basic understanding of construction materials, tools, and equipment.

Ability to handle heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks.

Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
-
Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction sites and materials handling.
-
Basic math skills for stock management and record-keeping.
-
Use MS Office (especially Excel) for reporting and data analysis.
-
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-
Good communication skills to interact with workers and supervisors.
-
Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items.
-
Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.
