JOB SUMMARY

CORDAID Sierra Leone is recruiting three Project Officers that will be based in Freetown, Kambia and Pujehun. The Project officers are expected to support the Private Sector Development (PSD) department in ensuring that all aspects of Financial Inclusion Project activities are successfully managed in Freetown whilst following prescribed CORDAID and Donor Regulations. Program Officer will be responsible for project programs and activities for our organization. S/he will be tasked with managing and implementing program activities to support the project's objectives, as well as reporting. You will also oversee managing implementation of team and partners.

CORDAID has been operating in Sierra Leone for the past 20 years and recently established a Country Office.  Presently, CORDAID Sierra Leone, is focused on two key areas of support – Health System Strengthening and Private Sector Development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under overall guidance of the PSD Financial Inclusion Coordinator, the Project Officer will be responsible for all of the following functions, in no order of priority, for the efficient and effective day to day running of the project and working closely with and reporting to the Project Coordinator to ensure strong delivery of CORDAID PSD Financial Inclusion program(s) including:

  • Creating and managing program goals.

  • Support the evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.

  • Managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.

  • Implementing and managing changes to interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.

  • Meeting with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services.

  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.

  • Analyzing program risks

 

​QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The required qualifications and skills for this job assignment are:

 

  • Diploma/ Degree in Social studies or Business-related field

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in working in program

  • Experience working in Financial Inclusion projects

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and Data Collection software like CommCare etc

  • Demonstrates integrity by modeling CORDAID’s values and ethical standards

  • Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of CORDAID.

  • Experience in working in projects that worked with Bottom of the Pyramid as target group

  • Experience working and managing field teams.

  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications and computer software programs like Microsoft office apps including Word, Excel & Outlook, survey tools such as Kobo tools

  • Excellent communication skills (verbally and in writing)

  • Experience in managing teams

  • Experience in training and field use of quantitative and qualitative data collection methods
