POSITION SUMMARY

​

The Mine Foreman is responsible for the overall supervision and coordination of daily mining operations, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Sierra Rutile operational standards.

​

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Supervise and coordinate all mining activities (excavation, loading, hauling, rehabilitation)

• Execute daily production plans aligned with mine schedule

• Monitor equipment utilization and productivity

• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and company policies

• Coordinate closely with:

  • Mine Supervisors

  • Haulage Manager

  • Workshop Manager

• Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings

• Track and report:

  • Ore production volumes

  • Downtime Fuel usage

• Identify and escalate operational risks and bottlenecks

• Ensure proper grade control and mining accuracy

 

KPIs

• Daily / monthly production targets

• Equipment availability & utilization

• Safety compliance (LTIs, incidents)

• Fuel efficiency

• Downtime reduction

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

​

• Diploma/Degree in Mining Engineering or related field

• 8–12 years mining experience

• 5+ years in supervisory role
