OVERVIEW

 

Overview MiKashBoks is seeking to hire an experienced, motivated individual to help drive strategic business development:

● Be responsible for MiKashBoks’s marketing initiatives, helping us to enhance our brand, our audience, and drive growth

● Developing partnerships with commercial partners, corporations, and organisations such as government agencies and NGOs

 

This role is for persons with a strong track record of business development, particularly in the financial sector.

ABOUT MIKASHBOKS 

 

Founded in 2021, MiKashBoks is a fintech business that seeks to transform the financial experience of the last billion. Our award-winning app provides ‘banking as a service’ for the informal sector - both individuals and groups - so that people at the bottom of the financial pyramid can build a financial footprint and get access to financial services.
MiKashBoks has a growing base of customers in Sierra Leone. In particular, we are growing the business by developing partnerships with financial institutions, MNOs and other corporates.

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The role will encompass, but not be limited to, the following:
 

Marketing:
● Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy across digital, social media, and traditional marketing channels to drive user growth and retention.
● Ensure effective execution with the marketing team
● Organise and promote events and coordinate with media outlets and key stakeholders
● Oversee the creation of high-quality, original content

● Develop incentivisation programs to address behavioural challenges in adoption of the app among users and field agents / group administrators;
● Working with our product and customer success team, organise research and user forums to gather feedback and establish credibility
● Work with the CEO to monitor the marketing budget, ensuring all campaigns are cost-effective and deliver high returns. ● Manage relationships with marketing agencies and designers as required for execution of marketing plans, in particular in local markets
● Measure and report on the performance of all marketing campaigns, assessing against goals (ROI and KPIs).


Partnership development:
● Establish and develop relationships with potential partner organisations - banks, microfinance institutions, mobile network operators, corporates

● Identify the key influencers for those organisations and build relationships with them

● Develop sales plans that can be measured and tracked

● Onboard partner organisations onto MiKashBoks, coordinate user onboarding and training sessions with the wider sales team as required
● Develop joint marketing plans with key partners
● Relay information back into the organisation for prioritisation and implementation


Local leadership:
● Represent MiKashBoks at a senior level with key stakeholders - regulators, business partners, investors
● Help build a collaborative, motivated and accountable culture within the team 

ABOUT YOU

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record in sales, marketing and management in Sierra Leone, preferably in finance and/or technology.
Competencies demonstrated should include:

● Communication skills: able to distil complex information into clear, simple communications.

● Action-oriented: creates solutions and sticks to tasks, ensures quality
● Customer Focus: dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers

● Integrity and trust: operates to the highest ethical standards

● Negotiation skills: able to build and defend positions, influence others

The role will report to our global CEO.
