Marketing Manager - Commercial Organisation

Responsibilities:

 

  • The marketing manager is responsible for product management; this involves new product development and product marketing. These are two complementary roles geared toward maximizing revenues and market share. Product development involves building new products to be offered to customers.

  • Working with the operations team, such as the COO, deputy COO and the Managing director, to set the marketing strategy for the organisation.

  • Managing the performance of a more junior marketing team that can also include PR and creative staff.

  • Researching and analysing market trends and competitors.

  • Overseeing marketing campaigns.

  • Tracking effectiveness of marketing campaigns and reporting findings to the Managing Director and or COO.

  • Writing and delivering content and social media plans.

  • Looking after the budget of the marketing department and making sure the budget spend is delivering a return on investment.

  • The marketing managers is also responsible for updating senior leadership on the progress of marketing activities and reporting on the results of campaigns

  • The marketing manager is responsible for designing a strategic marketing plan for the company and will achieve and maintain a competitive advantage in the market. He/she will help implement this strategy via prioritized activities on the marketing roadmap.

  • The marketing manager must be heavily involved in planning and producing events. These can range from massive product launches and conferences to smaller efforts such as webinar

  • The Marketing manager helps with the sales process. This might entail everything from producing informational materials to training sales reps on how to move customers along the buyer's journey more effectively.

  • The marketing manager can be responsible for many diverse activities, such as:

  1. Website management.

  2. Social media management.

  3. Copywriting and content management.

  4. Data analytics.

  5. PR and corporate communications.

 

Person specification:

​

  • Tertiary education (preferably degree) in Marketing

  • Five years' experience in a similar role
