Job Title: Management Accountant

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide support to the Finance Coordinator for the various management of the finance functions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervising and maintaining of relevant records and preparation of final accounts and reporting on all funds.

Liaising with other departments on all matters affecting budgetary control, financial and management reporting, control and monitoring of budget expenditure.

Coordinating and processing of account payable and receivables including verification and coding procedures to ensure accuracy.
-
Controlling the issue of cheques and other negotiable instructions and ensuring compliance with proper banking procedures.

Recommending payments in accordance with approved commitments / budgets.

Assessing of all investment proposals.

Preparing and analyzing of monthly financial statements and additional reports for management.

Responsible for all inventory control procedures

Reviewing daily cash and bank transaction and reports.

Supervising approvals, process data, ensuring compliance with company procedures, policies and general accounting practices, maintaining appropriate internal controls.

Reviewing debtors and creditor ledger.
-
Discussing important matters with National Revenue Authority and Government Institutions as instructed by the finance coordinator.

Any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the Finance Coordinator.

QUALIFICATION
-
Degree in Accounting / Finance or a recognized professional accounting qualification at least certificate stage of ACCA / ICASL.
EXPERIENCE
-
At least 4-5 years accounting experience in both financial and management accounting at a senior level.
COMPETENCIES

Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Sound understanding of computerized accounting systems.

Sound understanding of double entry principles.
-
Ability to work in a team and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Outstanding written and oral communication skills and proven ability in English language.

Ability to work under pressure.

High level of interpersonal, cross-cultural and negotiation skills.
