JOB PURPOSE
An organisation in the automotive industry in Sierra Leone seeks a Human Resources Manager, who will be responsible for establishing, leading, and managing the full spectrum of HR functions for the organisation (approximately 40 employees). The role will ensure that the company’s people strategy aligns with business objectives while maintaining compliance with local labour laws and the organisation's Group HR policies.
The position plays a critical role in strengthening governance, formalising HR structures, and driving a performance-based culture within the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. HR Strategy & Governance
-
Develop and implement the local HR strategy in alignment with Group HR and business objectives.

Establish and maintain formal HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook.

Ensure compliance with Sierra Leone labour legislation and the organisation's Group standards.

Advise the CEO on workforce planning and organisational design.
B. Recruitment & Talent Management
-
Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for all positions.

Develop workforce planning and succession strategies.
-
Implement structured onboarding and probation management processes.
-
Build employer branding initiatives to enhance talent attraction.
C. Compensation & Benefits
-
Develop and maintain salary scales and job grading framework.
-
Review allowances, benefits, and incentive schemes.
-
Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
D. Performance Management
-
Design and implement a performance management system.
-
Align KPIs with business objectives.
-
Support managers in performance improvement processes.
-
Promote a high-performance and accountability culture.
E. Employee Relations & Engagement
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters.
-
Manage disciplinary and grievance procedures.
-
Promote employee engagement initiatives.
-
Support conflict resolution and mediation.
F. Learning & Development
-
Identify training needs aligned with business priorities.
-
Coordinate technical and leadership development programmes.
-
Promote continuous professional development culture.
G. HR Administration & Reporting
-
Maintain accurate employee records.
-
Prepare HR metrics and reports for CEO and Group HR.
-
Manage leave, contracts, and documentation.
-
Ensure HR systems and processes are efficient and compliant.

Any other HR related tasks

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
​
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or HR professional certification (CIPD, SHRM, etc.)
-
Master’s degree or equivalent is an advantage
Experience:
-
Minimum 5–7 years’ progressive HR experience
-
At least 3 years in a managerial role
-
Experience in automotive, FMCG, logistics, or multinational environment preferred
-
Strong knowledge of Sierra Leone labour law
