Leading Primary School Seeks Inspirational Team Members

 

The Board of Directors and Managing Partners of this leading primary school in Freetown, Sierra Leone, seek to appoint the following members of staff to further success in the years ahead.  We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic primary school teachers to join our team to foster and facilitate the intellectual and social development of our school children. The successful candidates must be high achievers, be able maintain high standards, a passion for teaching and a love and care for children.

                   

The Job Description:
  • The Head Teacher will be expected to provide professional leadership of the school, taking responsibility for the internal organisation, management and day-to-day academic operations. 

  • Communicating, consulting and co-operating with members of the staff, and parents/guardians to ensure the best interest of pupils.

  • Promoting the general progress and well-being of all pupils in the school.

  • She/he will be expected to build and motivate both teaching and non-teaching staff, and will be responsible for the school's performance and its future direction within the strategic framework agreed with the Board. 

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

 

The successful candidate must hold either a Bachelor's Degree in Education with 7 Years Teaching Experience, 5 of which must be as a Senior Teacher or a Higher Teacher's Certificate with 10 Years Teaching Experience, 6 of which must be as a Senior Teacher.

 

  • Exceptional English communication skills (written and spoken).

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and record keeping skills.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Gmail (email) and use of the internet.

  • Strong relationship building skills and teamwork.

  • Willingness to learn, give and receive feedback, and try new approaches.

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.

  • Passionate about improving the quality of education.

 

Remuneration:

The Board anticipates that the salary offered will reflect previous experience and qualifications and the considerable responsibility to be taken by the post holder
