Job Title: Finance Manager

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Supervises: 15 finance staff

Location: Freetown

​

 

A local company within the energy sector, which is focusing on implementing its expansion strategies is seeking a Finance Manager to ensure the overall financial management and reporting of the organisation and actively contribute towards the financial planning and strategic growth of the organisation.

 

 

Duties

  • To work with management on forward planning and the effective daily organisation of the company's activities, including business planning, policy setting, financial forecasting and strategic decision making

  • To lead on the financial aspects of any strategic projects aimed at achieving growth of the organisation

  • To ensure the accurate and timely preparation of management accounts

  • Responsible for the preparation of appropriate financial reports for management and the Board

  • To maximise income from all trading activities

  • To develop and implement the finance team operating procedures

  • To prepare and manage an annual budget for the organisation

  • Maintain up-to-date records of departmental financial information

  • To effectively manage the finance team by carrying out performance reviews and ensuring that on-the-job training is being done

  • Communicate effectively with team on a regular basis ensuring information is clear, accurate and timely

  • Carry out any other tasks that will, from time to time, be allocated by the Chief Executive Officer commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post

Person specification

Proven experience of preparing and presenting financial and management accounts, reports and data

Proven experience in business planning, budget preparation, setting and monitoring and financial forecasting

Proven experience in direct management and supervision of a finance team

ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CPA qualified accountant

Good working knowledge of current financial management software

Excellent skills in communication, report writing, presentation, Microsoft Office, team leadership, time management

Personal integrity and confidentiality
