BACKGROUND

​

The Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) - Sierra Leone, collaborating with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) of the Government of the United State of America, delivers projects under the $500 million Compact that address development challenges in the country through the implementation of the Power Sector Reform Project, the Transmission Backbone Project, and the Distribution and Access Project. 

 

MCA Sierra Leone is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Driver.

POSITION SUMMARY

​

The Driver plays a crucial role in supporting the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) by providing reliable and safe transportation services for staff, visitors, and project partners. The Driver is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of MCA vehicles while adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES)

​

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

 

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of professional driving experience, preferably within an international organization, government, or private sector environment or twelve (12) years driving experience in lieu of high school diploma or equivalent.

 

Competencies

• Must be able to read and write in English

• Familiarity with local traffic laws, regulations, and driving customs.

• Proficiency in basic vehicle maintenance and the ability to identify and report issues.

• Knowledge of local geography, including the locations of key government offices, project sites, and other relevant destinations.

• Basic understanding of navigation tools, such as GPS devices or smartphone applications.

• High level of confidentiality and integrity
