The Board of Directors and Managing Partners of this leading primary school in Freetown, Sierra Leone, seek to appoint the following members of staff to further success in the years ahead.  We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic primary school teachers to join our team to foster and facilitate the intellectual and social development of our school children. The successful candidates must be high achievers, be able maintain high standards, a passion for teaching and a love and care for children.

                   

The Job Description:
  • Teach all aspects of literacy and numeracy at primary school level (NPSE), along with personal, social and emotional skills.

  • Organise learning materials and resources.

  • Use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, arts & craft, outdoor activities, etc.) to motivate and stimulate children's abilities;

  • Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to all students in the class.

  • Assess each student’s performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on a regular basis.

  • Follow and comply with the schools teaching standards and safety regulations.

  • Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information.

  • Promoting the general progress and well-being of each pupil entrusted to their care.

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

 

The successful candidate must hold either a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a minimum of 5 Years teaching experience, or a Higher Teacher's Certificate with 8 Years teaching experience.

 

  • Excellent Knowledge of child development and the latest education theories and practices. 

  • Creative and inventive teaching abilities.

  • Teaching and organisational skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Keep up with the latest pedagogy and best practices.

  • Patience.

 

Remuneration:

The Board anticipates that the salary offered will reflect previous experience and qualifications and the considerable responsibility to be taken by the post holder
