Section one: Background to Fund / GP
Synergy Private Equity Funds (SPEF I and II) are generalist Private Equity Funds managed by Synergy Capital Managers and invest mainly in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Synergy Funds invest in small and medium sized companies in sectors ranging from energy, manufacturing, financial services, Infrastructure and consumer-focused enterprises, amongst others. SPEF and its portfolio companies are committed to the promoting and maintaining the highest standards of environmental, social & governance practices in their geographies of interest.

Section two: Role and responsibilities
The Analyst’s primary role is financial modelling; portfolio monitoring and value add in investees. The successful candidate would:

Conduct industry and market research

Analyse investment opportunities and prepare appropriate report

Develop financial models and perform ad-hoc financial forecasting, analysis and modelling

Maintain certain performance metrics
-
Prepare transaction documents and memorandums
-
Provide periodic updates and status reports both on investments being managed and new opportunities
Section three: Background and skills
Minimum requirements:

University degree in a relevant discipline, preferably Banking and Finance, Economics; Business Administration; or a similar area.

At least Two years’ work experience in a related field (relevant sector, development finance or private equity / the wider investment industry).

Ability to travel at short notice.

Strong communication skills, including report writing (use of PowerPoint and diagrams to present information in a concise format) and oral communication.

Negotiation skills, including the ability to be persuasive as well as to listen and pragmatically identify when compromise is required.

Excellent logical reasoning and structure in thought and communications.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage and prioritise a busy and diverse workload with a range of deliverables for a variety of stakeholders.
