OVERVIEW:
A new bakery operating in the east of Freetown, Sierra Leone is hiring an Assistant Kitchen Chef with the following responsibilities:

Assist with food preparation and services

Properly use and clean kitchen areas and equipment
-
Unload and stocks deliveries
-
Follow all food handling procedures as directed
-
Light cooking (heating, stirring, cold food) when directed
-
Report all inventory and supplier issues to supervisor
-
Address company dress code while on duty
Key Qualifications and Competencies
-
Certification in culinary art
-
Able to stand for long periods of time
-
Able to work unsupervised
-
Able to prioritize and work in fast-paced environment
-
Able to follow direction and work in team environment
-
Willing and able to work varying shifts
-
Understanding of restaurants and coffee operational procedures
-
Knowledge of cooking techniques and methods
-
Ability to use key kitchen equipment, e.g. stove tops, meat slicers etc.
-
Ability to debone meat, wash, peel and cut vegetables, and prepare a wide range of ingredients
-
Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards regarding food preparation and storage
-
Ability to handle a number of tasks simultaneously
